Clothing – Ensure that you have clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Carry extra clothing including gloves/mitts, warm layers, hat/toques and/or rain gear. Footwear that supports the ankle is desirable. Avoid cotton.

Before leaving home for a trip, ensure that all equipment is in good working order.

A backpack or waist pack is likely needed to carry all required gear. Hot shots for hands and feet and hiking poles are often very useful.

Bring lunch, water (at least 2 litres during hot weather) energy snacks, sunscreen and bug repellant.

Bring ID, Alberta personal health number, an emergency contact number and medical information. The Club will provide you with a medical record card that should be filed in and affixed to the outside of a pack.
